Roads

The Kingborough road network includes 271 kilometres of sealed road, 266 kilometres of unsealed road and 82 bridges. As well as the road surface, Council is also responsible for maintaining kerbs, gutters and footpaths.

Footpaths and Property Access

Council is responsible for the provision and maintenance of all footpaths in Kingborough.

Nature Strips and Road Reservations

Council has general responsibility for the management of local road reservations, including nature strips. It is not Council policy to maintain urban nature strips.

Road Maintenance

Council manage and maintain the majority of sealed and unsealed roads across the municipality.

Road Works Permits

If you are planning works that involve occupation or excavation within a Council road reservation (including nature strips and footpaths) you require a road works permit.

Sharing the Road with Wildlife

Kingborough has a large network of rural roads where wildlife activity is high, especially from dusk to dawn.

Street Sweeping

Street sweeping is an important Council operation to keep Kingborough clean and prevent waste from entering our waterways and catchments.
