The Kingborough Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2024 – 2029 was endorsed by Council on 19 August 2024.

The Strategy was developed based on the results of a period of community consultation.  The consultation period is now closed.

Consultation History

A community survey was open from Monday 21 August until Monday 18 September 2023.

The whole engagement period ran for approximately 8 weeks with consultation with health professionals and workshops and events.

The public engagement involved community health events and workshops throughout Kingborough.

  • Low impact Boot Camp – Kingston Park Outdoor Gyms
    • Thursday 7 & 14 September 12pm – 12.45pm
  • Mini Health Check Road Show

          Diabetes educator and nurse Heather Kennett conducted blood pressure checks, diabetes risk assessments and sleep surveys.

    • Monday 25 September at Kingston Neighbourhood House
    • Wednesday 27 September at Kingborough Fitness Centre
    • Wednesday 27 September at Kingborough Community Hub
  • Health Meals on a Budget
    • Learn some cheap, tasty and healthy ways to feed yourself and your family.
    • Tuesdays 5, 12, 19, 26 September 

 

The Draft Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2024-2029 was endorsed by Council on 1 July 2024 and released for community feedback until Wednesday, 31 July 2024.

Council developed the Draft Kingborough Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2024-2029 based on the results of the community consultation.

Funding for this engagement has been provided by a State Government Health, Lift Local grant.

Kingborough Council is committed to encouraging an active and healthy community.

Through this engagement Council will investigate future ways of increasing social inclusion and connectivity through our nature, arts and cultural programs.

Council will look at ways to facilitate connection with those who are isolated and/or not currently participating in health/wellbeing programs.
