This Expression of Interest (EOI) is now closed. Any EOIs received after 8 February 2023 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Kingborough Council was seeking expressions of interest from community groups and individuals to fly community flags on Kingborough Council’s fourth flagpole.
During the 16 January meeting, Council endorsed the Civic Centre Flag Policy, which sets out the process for flying flags.
Late in 2022, a fourth flagpole was installed at Council’s Civic Centre in Kingston.
This means there is now an opportunity to fly community flags, in addition to the Australian Flag, the Tasmanian Flag and the Aboriginal Flag.
Council is seeking expressions of interest from organisations and individuals who would like to see community flags flown, that symbolise and celebrate Kingborough’s diverse community and recognise important community events and dates.
Flags must be consistent with Council’s values and commitment to inclusiveness as outlined in our Strategic Plan.
Approved flags must be provided by the applicant.
Expressions of interest closed at 5pm on 8 February 2023.
These expressions of interest were considered and an Annual Community Flag Schedule was approved by Council on 21 February.
After this date, any expressions of interest received will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
