Transform Kingston

The Kingborough Council is transforming Kingston into the economic and cultural heart of Kingborough.

Following extensive consultation, the Kingston Place Strategy was developed in partnership with local businesses, the community and Kingborough Council and adopted at a Council meeting in May 2020. Feedback indicated the community overwhelmingly wanted Kingston to be dynamic, thriving and connected place with more attractive green spaces and improved links for pedestrians and cyclists.

Now that the Kingborough Community Hub and Stage 1 of Kingston Park have been completed, the Council will now begin to progress Stage 2 of Kingston Park and the upgrade of the main street (Channel Hwy).

Summerleas Underpass

Hobart City Deal

The Hobart City Deal is a 10 year partnership between the Clarence, Glenorchy, Hobart and Kingborough councils, the Tasmanian and Australian Governments.

Kingston Park Exercise Stations

Located throughout the Kingston Parks open public space, are three exercise stations for teams, groups and individuals to meet up and train on.
