Council meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of each month commencing at 5.30pm, unless it is a public holiday and the meeting moves to the next available business day. We have no additional committee meetings, as all matters are included on the Council agenda.
Meeting dates are published annually in the Mercury and on this page below. Agendas, Minutes and audio recordings of Council meetings are available online four days before each meeting by locating the meeting date below and clicking on the relevant link. Agendas are available for inspection at the Civic Centre alternatively a hard copy can be purchased by prior arrangement in terms of Section 9[3] of the Local Government (Meeting Procedures) Regulations 2015. You can choose to purchase the Agenda in its entirety or individual reports. The cost to purchase is 1 fee unit ($1.70 per unit) for every 5 pages. These fees are set by the Department of Treasury.
Members of the public are welcome to attend Council meetings and are also invited to ask questions without notice. A question asked without notice at a meeting cannot be about an item on the current agenda. Alternatively, a written question on notice can be submitted to the General Manager via email to kc@kingborough.tas.gov.au or by completing this online form. Questions on notice must be received no later than 7 days prior to the meeting date. Section 31[1] of the Local Government (Meeting Procedures) Regulations 2015 apply regarding public question time alternatively please read our Guidelines for Public Question Time (PDF).
