Really Really Free Market February 2025
1 February, 2025 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
FreeThe Really Really Free Market (RRFM) is a community gathering based on the concept of giving. It is a demonstration of building community based on sharing resources, abundance, reuse, recycling, caring for one another and improving the collective lives of all.
Everything is 100% free! By booking a table, you will receive a 2mx2m space for your activity, trestle table and chair. Council reserves the right to refuse a site to items deemed inappropriate. You will need to take home or donate anything that hasn’t been given away at the end of the event.
Come and share your stuff (books, CDs, toys, clothes, food, excess produce, plant cuttings, seeds etc.) or skills (massage, poetry writing, singing, repairing things etc) by giving them to others who need them.
By sharing, we are reducing consumption and waste of our natural resources, re-using what we don’t need by passing it on, and most importantly, showing everyone that there are more sustainable and generous ways to live.
Safety
If you are experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, please look after yourself and the wider community by staying home.
Unless there is a very strong wind forecast, we will keep the big door open in the auditorium to ensure that the event has an indoor/outdoor feel.
Food safety
If you are preparing food to give away, please ensure that your have practice good personal hygiene (wash hands, cover wounds etc.), use clean food preparation areas/utensils and store food appropriately. Please serve food yourself using gloved hand or utensil rather than allow people to pick up the food themselves.
