Arabic Calligraphy

Learn to write your name in Arabic and experience the calming nature of the brush on paper.
Embrace the mindfulness of Arabic Calligraphy with Halima as she guides you through the history of this ancient art form. A chance to explore the unique modulations of this cultural art form through pictograms, strokes and lettering. Create a small work using these skills and take your creation home with you!
Halima A. Bhatti is a Pakistani artist based in Hobart. Her artworks reflect deep connections and sacred knowledge through the ancient art of calligraphy. Halima’s work draws from Arabic and Urdu quotations from the Holy Quran and Sufi poems, through which she expresses elements of peace and connectedness in her paintings.
