DESCRIPTION | Discover the untouched beauty of Tinderbox Hills Reserve, a pristine woodland sanctuary nestled amidst the encroaching suburbia of Kingston. This reserve is a good place to experience the threatened plant community, grassy Blue gum forest and do some bird watching. While access to the reserve was previously limited, track extensions have been completed that allow better access for walkers and mountain bikers. You can explore the Tinderbox Hills tracks currently accessed via Estuary Rd, Blackmans Bay, offering a scenic journey through open bushland and breathtaking views across Storm Bay and North West Bay. With the extended track, you are now able to continue through the Thinking Frog Private Reserve and the Tasmanian Land Conservancy’s Tinderbox Hills Reserve. You may even be lucky enough to see the endangered forty-spotted pardalote that occur in patches of critical white gum forest found throughout the Tinderbox Peninsula. Swift parrots may potentially be seen feeding in the Blue gums in spring and summer. | |
