Jam-packed weekend of classic films

Kingborough Council has formed an exciting new partnership with Rewind Cinema as they bring a jam-packed weekend of classic films to the Kingborough Community Hub from Friday, 28 March until Sunday, 30 March.

Mayor, Paula Wriedt said the wide variety of films in the pop-up program provided an opportunity for all film lovers in Kingborough to enjoy some classic films together.

“The Rewind Cinema specialises in showcasing the best films of the 80s and 90s, offering their audience a chance to relive the magic of their youth and experience the nostalgia of a bygone era,” Cr Wriedt said.

“Film lovers will be in for a treat with the weekend packed with great films and prizes for the best costumes, film facts, and a delicious selection of snacks and drinks.

“There are classics like Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Dirty Dancing and The Castle.

“There will also be a DVD sale in the Town Square.

“The Pop-Up Program is a genre-filled weekend from classic blockbusters to hidden gems; audiences are encouraged to dress up and connect with fellow film lovers in their community.

The creator of Rewind Cinema, Graziano Di Martino, said films are more than just entertainment.

“Films are way to connect with our past and understand the world around us,” Mr Di Martino said.
