July Community Hub Activities

July is going to be a busy month at the Kingborough Community Hub with a lineup of 4 exciting events.

The Deputy Mayor, Clare Glade-Wright said returning for the second year on Friday 5 – Sunday 7 July will be the huge Lions Club Book Sale which proved to be extremely popular last year.

“Community members will have upwards of ten thousand books to choose from with all the proceeds funnelled back into community projects,” Cr Glade-Wright said.

Returning this year is the ever-popular Night of Lights winter event taking place on Friday 26 July.

“This year’s Night of Lights will feature a lantern parade, live music, fire twirling, children’s entertainment, and delicious food.

“The winter season is proving to be an exciting time for community events, Council is proud to be hosting the Columbian Independence Day event at the Hub on Saturday 20 July where visitors can enjoy authentic food and entertainment.

“There will also be a raft of health and wellbeing activities that are being funded by a Lift Local Healthy Tasmania grant.”
