Community organisations are being encouraged to apply for the latest round of funding available through Kingborough Council’s Community Grants Program.
“Our Grants Program is an important source for funding for many of our community groups with grants of up to $3,000 available in the annual grant round, and up to $1000 throughout the year in Quick Response grants,” Cr Wriedt said.
“The not-for-profit organisation, Tassie Mums recently hosted a community documentary evening along with Dress for Success Tasmania & Be Hers at the Community Hub which was partially funded by a Quick Response grant.
“There are so many excellent projects funded every year; it is an absolute pleasure to be able to support our dedicated community groups.
“Our grant program has supported 8 community groups including: Kingborough Gymnastics Association with a replacement double mini trampoline, Blackmans Bay Primary School Association for a mural, and the Volunteer Marine Rescue was able to purchase upgraded search and rescue equipment.
“As well as our Community Grants Program, Council also provides a Quick Response Grants program which is designed to respond to unique opportunities that present at short notice,” Cr Wriedt said.
Community grant funding is open until Monday 26 August 2024.
